Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) Prescriptions

From 1st April, patients who usually pay for their Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) prescriptions will be able to purchase an annual HRT prepayment certificate (PPC) for the cost of two single prescription charges. This will be valid for 12 months and can be used against any HRT prescription(s) licensed for the treatment of menopause as listed in the Drug Tariff.  The list excludes preparations which may be used for the treatment of menopause but are not licensed to do so such as testosterone products.

A patient with an HRT PPC will continue to pay the prescription charge for any other (non-HRT) medicines (unless another exemption reason applies). These are known as “mixed” prescriptions.

GP Registrars

As of 1st February 2023, we will become a a training practice, so you may see another doctor known as a GP registrar.

A GP registrar is a qualified doctor who is training to become a General Practitioner through a period of working and training in a practice environment. They will usually have spent at least two years working in a hospital before you see them in a practice and are closely supervised by a senior GP and/or trainer.

You will be advised if an appointment is with a GP registrar and you will have the choice to have an appointment with another member of the clinical team if you prefer.

As part of their training they are required to record some of their consultations on video. These recordings are normally only seen by the doctor and his or her trainer and will only be made or viewed with your permission.

Any questions relating to this, please do not hesitate to contact us on 01748 876090.
