Repeat Prescriptions

As of the 1st of August 2024, the time it takes to process repeat prescriptions will increase to 3 working days. The practice is getting busier and busier with more people on medication for complex conditions. Patient safety is paramount and is the main reason for the time increase.

You can still order your medications in the same ways:

Online via the NHS app/ Systmonline or airmid app
Using your repeat slip – ticking the items you need and handing into reception or posting into the prescription box
Via the online consultation service

We do not accept repeat prescriptions over the phone.

In order to process the large number of requests each day, please note that 3 working days notice is required for repeat prescription requests.

The schedule for ordering and collection is therefore:

Airmid helps you manage your personal health record and connects you to online services offered by GP practices and other NHS organisations. This app will provide updates surrounding your prescription requests and you will be able to see when Harewood clinicians have issued your prescription and which pharmacy this has been sent to including the bar code reference for the particular prescription. This should reduce the requirement to contact our practice directly for updates with regards to your prescription requests. This app also provides detailed information surrounding your medical record, health care and any upcoming appointments and we encourage you to download this app for your convenience.
